The House of the Virgin is the headquarters of the Royal Archconfraternity and of the Pius Work Foundation of the Blessed Virgin of Araceli. Acquired by the brotherhood in 1750, it served primitively as lodging and housing the chaplain and the servant brethren of the Sanctuary who asked for alms for the worship of the Sovereign Image. The old house was a disinterested home for the rural population that moved to Lucena, as well as a store of groceries collected by the 'hermanacos' (bearers of the throne) in their application campaigns. Of 1803 it is its noble stone doorway, conserved after the reconstruction of 1990, as well as its typology of noble house of Lucena. From then on, it was transformed into a museum of Araceli where an abundant collection of bibliography, lithography, iconography, documentary, the belongings of the cult of the Virgin of Araceli and her dresses are gathered. * Opening hours: Visit previously arranged on the phone. 957 516165 / 957 503662 Ver Detalles
