Considered as the cathedral of the Subbética, this church responds to the Gothic-Mudejar and Renaissance artistic canons. In this place was located the old synagogue and later mosque of the city, until in 1240 it was adapted to the Christian cult. The current church was started in 1498, at the head of the church, together with the sacristy portals and the external of Ntra. Sra. De la Umbría (Our Lady of the Shade). The rest of the building, Renaissance, it has three naves with large pillars supported by pointed arches of Mudejar inspiration, as well as a main portal of clear classical influences. Inside it stands out the main Mannerist altarpiece, elaborated in its architectural part by Jerónimo Hernández and in its imagery by Juan Bautista Vázquez el Viejo. * Opening hours: From 7:30 to 13:30  / 18:30 to 21:00 * Free public visit, after hours of worship.
