Festivities of San Juan Bautista
As a tradition, on June 23 and 24, the patron saint festivities are celebrated in honor of San Juan Bautista in Almedinilla.
On the evening of June 23, the parade takes place and the legend of the “ Encantá ” on the Caicena river is performed. At the end of this, in Alameda Park, there is usually a free concert for all attendees.
The day of San Juan, begins with a miller breakfast offered by the municipality of Almedinilla, responsible for organizing the party. At noon, to alleviate the high temperatures, there is bar service and convivial food accompanied by the performance of local dance groups, which surprise the audience with their art.
The afternoon is usually dedicated to children with various activities, including some aquatic. At dusk, the image of San Juan Bautista, proceeds processioning through the streets of the town, accompanied by the band. When the religious acts are over, all the neighbors move to the Alameda Park, to enjoy a great festival.
