Fountain of the Lion
Also known as the fountain of the Republic of Almedinilla. The fountain consists of a red granite frontoncillo attached to a masonry retaining wall. In its upper part is the sign that indicates the drinkable character of the water and in the central part the face of a lion carved in stone, from whose mouth the water spout comes pouring over a 50 cm semicircular pool. It is located on the southern margin of the Ronda de Andalucía, about 200 m. to the west of the Pilar del Puente. The fountain is framed in a space of rectangular floor paved with modern marble slabs and where some seat benches are included.
