Its construction began in 1525 </ strong>, at the request of the Marquesa de Priego. Gothic-Mudejar building with three naves of the sixteenth century, with pointed arches on octagonal pillars, finished by a Mudejar roof with decoration that is still preserved under the baroque vault of the eighteenth century.
El Sagrario, one of the masterpieces of Spanish Baroque </ strong>, was made by Francisco Javier Pedrajas, between 1772 and 1784, and is National Monument since 1932 </ strong>. Its plant consists of an octagon surrounded by an underpass and a grandstand that is topped with an impressive gilded dome that is perforated at its base by eight large windows from which the light descends to the whole, which is preceded by a smaller square enclosure. This magnificent architecture is covered with a profuse decoration of rococo-inspired moldings and plasterwork.
