Calle Flores de Negrón
Located on Flores de Negrón Street, this old manor house was initially built by the Soto Flores family. The Soto Flores, of possible Judeo-convert origins, would be part of the families that settled in Lucena, attracted by the fame that the city had in the past and the longing to dwell in the land of their ancestors. The 17 th-century house-palace built in a Mannerist style is composed of facade bays on three floors and a perpendicular rear body of two floors. The facade is built in brick and in its central axis there is a covered doorway and surrounded by padded ashlars flanked by terraced pilasters, with a key in the architrave showing the heraldic shield of the Soto Flores. The wall is decorated with rectangular, pilasters and recessed wall plates that show the dynamism between empty spaces and ornate baroque precedents. Currently the headquarters of the Municipal Library,Municipal Archive and exhibition halls.
