Plaza Nueva

This place had its origin in 1620, two years after King Felipe III granted Lucena the title of city, since before Lucena was a town. Over the centuries the plaza had different denominations, the Plaza Real, the Republic, the Constitution, Alfonso XII, the Generalissimo, but it was always known as the Plaza Nueva.
