Nature

Lucena has protected wetlands within its municipal boundaries, all located in the vicinity of the Ruta del Tempranillo and Jauja. The Dulce and Amarga lagoons are of great importance due to the presence of the white-headed duck, a species that, along with others, is endangered. The Sierra de Aras also offers visitors breathtaking views of the entire Subbética region, the Campiña Sur, and even the Vega de Antequera, allowing, on clear days, the visibility of lands from up to four Andalusian provinces. At the summit, paragliding enthusiasts can enjoy one of the few launching pads in the province. The Vía Verde de la Subbética follows the route of the former "Oil Train." Today, this route allows cyclists and hikers to appreciate the beautiful landscapes of the Natural Park of the Sierras Subbéticas.
