Fuente del Conde

The hamlet of La Fuente del Conde, located south of the municipal area of Iznájar, at the foot of the Sierra de Campoagro, is also popularly known as "La Alcubilla."

Its name comes from the Count of la Revilla, who lived in the hamlet and owned a spring with four abundant water spouts, as well as most of the southern lands of Iznájar.

Crowning the hamlet is a magnificent viewpoint, the "Cruz de Magán," with a small chapel whose origin is related to an ancient Iberian sanctuary that was located in the same place.

Along the hillside, there are numerous caves that were inhabited during the Neolithic and later periods. There is also evidence of settlements from Argaric, Iberian, and Roman villages, with many archaeological remains found in the vicinity, such as falcatas, arrowheads, spears, ferrules, and fragments of Iberian ceramics.

Interesting architectural elements in Fuente del Conde include its church, a modern construction initiated around 1985 and completed in May 1994, as well as its public washhouses and fountains, such as the "Fuente de Magán," the "Fuente de la Alamea," or the "Fuente de la Alcubilla." Some holm oaks also stand out, considered singular trees in the municipality due to their size, shapes, and age.

It celebrates its festivals in honor of the Holy Cross from May 1 to 3, with a typical and ancestral pilgrimage.
